Narrow Body

Single aisle

Narrow-body is defined by the cabin layout: a single central aisle running the length of the fuselage. This configuration is typical for planes used on shorter routes and with fewer seats, like the common single-aisle jets. That makes single aisle the best descriptor for narrow-body.

The other descriptions don’t define the cabin layout. A double deck refers to two passenger levels (seen on some wide-bodies), wide-body means two aisles and a larger fuselage, and twin engine describes propulsion rather than how the cabin is arranged, so it doesn’t identify the narrow-body category.
